HANOVER, Md.- The Baltimore Dodgers bounced back from its Opening Day loss with a 10-2 beatdown of the Baltimore Redbirds. The Dodgers rode the wave of a seven-run first inning scoring surge to catapult them over Baltimore.
Redbirds pitcher Brady Stamper (L: 0.1 IP, 2 H, 7 ER, 3 BB) started the bottom of the first inning walking three of the first seven Dodger batters. The Dodgers scored its first two runs of the inning off a walk with the bases loaded and a wild pitch. Darriel Torres would clear the bases after hitting a 3 RBI triple that went over the center fielder’s head.
The Dodgers maintained its lead with two solid pitching performances by Steven Cook and Kasey Gast. Cook pitched through five innings only giving up two hits and two unearned runs and threw four strikeouts. Gast came in relief of Steven Cook in the 6th inning. Gast completed the shutout, while only giving up two hits and three walks.
The Baltimore Dodgers complete their three-game home stretch on Friday against the DC Grays. First pitch is at 7:00 at Joe Cannon Stadium.
