The Herndon Braves took down the Baltimore dodgers on Wednesday 7-4 at Joe Cannon Stadium. The Braves, fueled by timely hitting and Dodger errors, were led by shortstop Austin Gauthier. Gauthier went 2-4 with two doubles, a ascrifice fly, and two runs batted in.
The Dodgers overcame their early struggles on both sides of the ball, five errors and no hits through six innings, to inch back into the game. An RBI single by Alexander Taylor in the bottom of the seventh ultimately leveled the score at four.
However, the Braves could not be denied. In the top of the ninth, they scored 3 runs including a 2-run double by Gauthier to deep right. Andrew Mayhew picked up the win for the Braves, while Joe Peluso was tagged with the loss.
The Dodgers look to bounce back tomorrow at 7 pm at Joe Cannon Stadium, as they take on cross town rivals the Baltimore Redbirds.
