Derek Brown (4th Season)


Derek DC Brown is the Co-Founder of the Baltimore Dodgers and has been the Manager of the team since their entrance into the Cal Flipken Collegiate Baseball League in 2013. He has over 45 years of experience playing and coaching. Brown is also the recruitment coordinator of the program.

Brown attended the Community College of Baltimore where he was a member of a nationally ranked program that finished 6th in the nation and received a birth to the Juco World Series in Grand Junction Colorado 1980. Brown went on to play with the Baltimore Pirates who at the time was one of the premier ball clubs and most respected in the Maryland metropolitan area.

In 1989 Brown began coaching. He's had success at all levels at the amateur level and is obligated to equip our youth with positive energy and pass on the knowledge that he obtained over the years. He played middle infield in his playing days and has assisted many programs with his expertise of the game.

Brown is a retired 30 year Veteran of the Maryland State Transportation Police Department and the CEO of Pro-Style Gridiron Athletic Sports Supply.

Derek Brown and his wile Barrie reside in Woodstock, Maryland. They have two children son Ryan and daughter Randi.

Assistant Coach

Juan Waters


Juan is Co-Founder of the Baltimore Dodgers and has been an assistant baseball coach with the team since their entrance into the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League in 2013. He has over 30 years of experience playing and coaching. Juan shares in the recruiting responsibilities for the team and assists with the infielders. His coaching experience also includes being head coach for elite 14U and 18U tournament travel teams in the Mid-Atlantic Region. His teams won 9 championships (4 consecutive) and 8 tournaments in 12 years.

Additionally, he served as an assistant baseball coach at Baltimore City Community College in Baltimore, Maryland (2009-2010). Juan has worked resolutely to help players in their development to prepare them for college level baseball. He has provided personal hitting and fielding instruction, as well as, assisting players through the college recruiting process.

Juan graduated from the University of Baltimore with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Accounting, and earned a Certificate in Information Technology from the Community College of Baltimore County.

He currently resides in Randallstown, Maryland with his wife April and their two sons, Juan Jr. and Jerel, and daughter Andrea.
